My Story

About Harrison Daniel Studio

I’m Allan Scarfe, the owner and operator of Harrison Daniel Studio, a woodworking studio I established in 2020 as I prepared to leave the Canadian Armed Forces after more than a decade of service. Having spent my 20s and 30s serving in the army, with numerous deployments worldwide, I’ve reached a point where I desire to focus more on my family and less on distant assignments. Now, I’m dedicating my life to my family, friends and my woodworking passion.

Although I’ve been designing and crafting furniture for over 20 years, it wasn’t until 2020 that I turned it into a professional venture. Leveraging the diverse skills and qualities I developed during my military service, I now infuse them into my woodworking, evident in each piece I produce.

The disciplines I developed in the army is evident in every piece of furniture I create. I ensure that nothing leaves my workshop unless it meets my stringent standards. I strive to produce unique items while incorporating my passions for mid-century designs into each piece. I find joy in crafting pieces that appear simple and minimalistic yet are complex to build, even if the complexity might not be fully noticed by the clients.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me and taken the time to listen to my story. I’m excited to create something that will stay with you forever.
